BOOK CONSERVATION

The Vespiary Book Binding And Book Conservation
This particular site was found via Technorati a blog searching site.

This site took my fancy as I am interested in this area, it caters towards my artistic bent. I thoroughly enjoy mending books when I can and would love to know more.

I find this site to be authoritative although not current. The last dated post is December 2010, however leading up to this point there have been an immense amount of postings all archived and on a regular basis. The most recent activity being a 'Tweet' on the 25th of June 2011.
There are many subjects and interests which include an extensive list of 'Categories' to take the eye, a 'Blogroll', 'Home page', 'Suppliers' and more...

The author doesn't give his name but does readily make himself available to contact. Via his web page 'The Vespiary' , RSS feed, Facebook, Twitter, email and telephone. He has a graduate degree in Science Illustration at UC Santa Cruz. Worked in the M.B. Harrison Preservation Department of the Shields Library. Has been tutored by a Shino master potter and worked as a ceramics instructor. He is currently working at the University of Montana in the Library's Preservation Department and has a public radio show.

I thoroughly enjoyed viewing this blog, easy on the eye and easy to navigate. Lots of interesting information.

The down side to this blog is the fact it is not Australian and we can not access easily a lot of the features in real life.

  1. It looks very professional doesn't it? An interesting contrast with the blog you subscribed to in your previous post.
